Artificial Intelligence has come a long way in the last few years.
In just a few clicks you can generate realistic images of almost anything.
With that in mind, we decided to test the Image Creator from Microsoft Designer to see how accurately it could create famous sights from the local area.
Here’s how it got on…
Barons Quay
We start off with Barons Quay, which is clearly a popular place to be in the AI world. At the bottom of the picture, you can see the historic Town Swing Bridge has been replaced, with the whole area pedestrianised (Image: Bing)
Anderton Boat Lift
Just along the River Weaver from Barons Quay, Anderton Boat Lift. AI appears to love this one so much that it has made a collage. (Image: Bing)
Lion Salt Works
Staying in the Northwich area we have Lion Salt Works, with a clear emphasis on the salt. (Image: Bing)
Pina Colada Festival
To switch things up we asked AI to create an event, namely the Northwich Pina Colada Festival. (Image: Bing)
Delamere Forest
To the west of Northwich we have Delamere Forest. (Image: Bing)
Brunner Guildhall
There's no missing this when driving into Winsford, it's the Brunner Guildhall of course! (Image: Bing)
Middlewich Bull Ring
AI has taken the words Bull Ring quite literally it seems (Image: Bing)
Jodrell Bank
Moving into Cheshire East territory we have perhaps the most impressive structure in the county, the Lovell Telescope and seemingly all of its children (Image: Bing)
Tatton Park
Another extraordinary sight both in person and in the eyes of AI, Tatton Park (Image: Bing)
Knutsford Services
This one will be familiar even to those who don't live in Chesire - Knutsford Services (Image: Bing)
Penny Farthing Museum
One of Knutsford's most unique attractions, the Penny Farthing Museum (Image: Bing)
Knutsford Royal May Day
One of the biggest events on the calendar, Knutsford Royal May Day (Image: Bing)
The Rex Cinema
Finally, we have the Rex Cinema in Wilmslow. Given it opened in 1936 it perhaps makes sense that it has a nostalgic look to it (Image: Bing)
