BARRIERS have been installed to keep 'dangerous' drivers out of an industrial estate car park.
Police have taken action to stamp out anti-social behaviour at Artis Park in Winsford Industrial Estate.
It follows months of such behaviour, including littering and nuisance driving.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “Over recent months officers have received multiple reports of ASB, littering and nuisance driving on the car park area at Artis Park.
“This has included reports of dangerous driving.
“Local officers and PCSO have been patrolling the area on a regular basis and, after working with local businesses and the site owner, it has been agreed that the car park barrier will be closed overnight to prevent further offences.”
The barrier comes down at 8pm each night, which started from January 31.
Businesses at Artis Park, which include Screwfix and Tool Station, as well as a Red Cross charity shop, are to install their own signs to inform customers of the new barrier.
Meanwhile, a sign on the barrier itself reads: “The car park gates will be locked at 8pm.
“No overnight parking.
“Users of this car park do so at their own risk.
“The management will not accept any responsibility for damage, accident or loss.”
