AN election date has been confirmed to fill the vacancy left by the death of a beloved councillor.
Anne Price, who was elected uncontested to Middlewich Town Council in May last year, sadly died on November 16, aged 66.
Following the death of Anne, who has been described as 'one of the best councillors the town has had', there has been a vacant seat in the Kinderton ward.
Now a notice of election has been issued, stating one would be held on Thursday, February 22, if it will be contested.
Anyone wishing to put themselves forward must hand-deliver their nomination papers to the Cheshire East's returning officer at the elections office in Macclesfield Town Hall, Market Place, SK10 1EA, by 4pm on Friday, January 26.
Nominees are asked to call 01270 685922 to set up and appointment to deliver their papers.
