A RARE weather phenomenon - the snowbow - was captured in the skies above Mid Cheshire yesterday, Tuesday.
Temperatures plummeted during the night on Monday and there was a blanket of snow covering the ground when people woke on Tuesday morning.
Once the skies cleared there was an atmospheric phenomenon resembling a rainbow but associated with snow visible above the buildings.
Guardian Camera Club members captured the rare sight which takes place when sunlight is refracted through the snowflakes in the air.
A snowbow only happens when the sun is low in the sky and it's snowing.
