A SERVING Cheshire Police officer has been arrested after an allegation of stalking was made against her.
Officers attended Northwich Police Station on Friday, December 29, before making the arrest at around 2.30pm.
An investigation has now been launched into the allegation against the officer, which The Guardian understands to be an inspector in the force's Western area.
A police spokesman said: "On Friday, December 29, officers from Cheshire Police arrested a serving officer following allegations of stalking.
"The officer has since been suspended and released on bail pending further enquiries."
Cheshire Police's Western area includes Northwich, Winsford, Chester and Ellesmere Port.
