FIREFIGHTERS have had to be called out to three suspected arson attacks in the same street within just 27 hours.

The town's fire crew first attended Dee Way at around 3.50pm on Christmas Day to extinguish a blaze involving a bed frame and wheelie bins.

Less than six hours later, at around 8.15pm, the crew were yet again called out to deal with two wheelie bins which had been set alight in the same street.

Then on Boxing Day, shortly after 6.25pm, the Winsford crew extinguished another fire involving Dee Way wheelie bins.

All three incidents are believed to be deliberate ignition and have been passed to Cheshire Police, which has launched an investigation.

A police spokesman said: "On December 25 we were contacted by the fire service at 8.30pm, reporting a fire involving two wheelie bins on Dee Way that was believed to be deliberate ignition.

"The following day, on December 26, we were called at 6.30pm to reports of criminal damage.

"It was reported a group of four males had set fire to wheelie bins outside an address in Dee Way."

Anyone with information which could assist police with their inquiries is asked to call 101, quoting IML-1721397 for the Christmas Day incidents or IML-1721890 for the Boxing Day fire.
