CHESHIRE Police attended last night’s meeting of Middlewich Town Council after two previous meetings had to be suspended because of disruptive behaviour.
Police have confirmed to the Local Democracy Reporting Service they were asked to attend yesterday’s meeting at the Victoria Hall on Civic Way following complaints about the previous behaviour of a resident.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “On Monday, December 18, officers attended the full council meeting in Middlewich at the request of the town council.
“The request was made following reports of a man being verbally disruptive at previous meetings.
“No arrests were made at the meeting and there were no reports of any disruption.”
According to the minutes of the full council meeting on November 11, that meeting had to be suspended and was rescheduled to November 16, due to disruptive behaviour.
Another meeting, which took place on November 20, had to be suspended just two minutes after it started because of disruptive behaviour and was resumed about 15 minutes later.
