A NEW bar has opened in Northwich town centre.
Barons is open for business on Witton Street.
The beer bar takes over the unit formerly home to the similarly named, Baron's Lounge.
Lounge opened at the end of 2017 and in 2022 was included in The Good Beer Guide.
However, it seemingly closed for good earlier this year, appearing for sale on Rightmove in August.
Marketed by Williams Silitoe, it had a guide price of £205,000.
Then, at the start of November, a post teasing the opening of Barons was shared on Facebook, with further details posted over the following weeks.
“After a long few weeks and lots of hiccups we are delighted to be opening this coming Thursday (December 7) 12 noon," read a post on Monday (December 4).
“Still lots to do before then but we are confident we can open the doors to all you lovely customers.
“We have tried very hard to get Barons to a good standard.
“We are very proud of what we have achieved in a short time, still lots to do, but we really wanted to open for the festive season.
“We will continue to fix the venue up and hopefully make it a great bar.”
A video tour of the bar shows plenty of candle-lit tables and fairy lights, with a Christmas tree helping to create some festive spirit.
On the taps can be found a number of well-known alcoholic drinks such as Madri, Coors Light and Guinness.
There is also two cask ale options available in the form of Cheshire Cat and Black Sheep.
Tonight (December 8), Barons will host live music courtesy of Septic and Swampy.
News of Barons’ opening has been welcomed by Northwich residents and business owners alike.
Emma Smith, landlady of the nearby Swinging Witch, said: “This is amazing!
“Good luck with the future. Can’t wait to pop in for a drink.
“All the best from myself and us all at The Swinging Witch.”
Vicky Booth, manager of The Bird and Hat, added: “Looks amazing! Just down the road if you need anything.”
