Krazy Races wins award as Northwich event raises £20k for charity

Held in towns and cities across the country, the fun family event came to Cheshire on Sunday, July 16, with thousands of people descending on Castle Street and Verdin Park.

Now Krazy Races, created by Sarah Belcher Events, has been recognised at the prestigious National Outdoor Events Associations (NOEA) Awards held in Bath last month.

Nominated in the 'One to Watch' category, Krazy Races were judged by a panel of industry experts before scooping the prestigious trophy.

Founder Sarah said: "Winning this award is such an honour. To be in a room with the people behind some of the country's best loved events is ‘KRAZY’.

"We have had an incredible year and worked with some fantastic teams up and down the country.

"I am so proud of the positive economic and significant charity impact Krazy Races has had on the areas we have visited."

After welcoming more than 150,000 spectators and 250 teams at its events, Krazy Races raised a combined total of almost £100,000 for UK charities.

Sarah added: "To raise nearly £100,000 for charity while giving 150,000 people a great day out is mind-blowing and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our teams who are the beating heart of our event, all our spectators who come out in force with so so much passion and generosity and all our fantastic sponsors who make the event possible.

"Last but not least, I would like to thank my outstanding team who work so hard to make the event the success it has become."

Despite its success in Northwich, the event will not be returning to the town in 2024, however a new Cheshire location is set to be announced this week.
