THE owner of Weaverham’s newest barbers is ‘disappointed’ after burglars broke in and stole money and the tools of his trade just one month after he opened.

Adil Mahmood was ‘proud’ to opened Haro Barber on Northwich Road – his first business venture - on Saturday, October 24.

When the 35-year-old let himself into the shop at 8am on Saturday, November 25, he was shocked to find the back door flying open, the place a mess, and all his clippers and scissors missing.

He then went to his new till and found it had been forced open, and his float for the day's trading had also been snatched.

Adil, who lives in Warrington, said: “It’s very disappointing.

“This is my first business and I’m proud of it, and it’s my only means of making a living.

“But apart from breaking down the back door, there was no other damage, unless you include the mess.

“I’m grateful for that. Luckily there was only £50 in the till.

“My neighbours have CCTV, so we know it happened just after 3am, and there were three of them.

“We’ve given the footage to the police.

“I’ve had to replace all my equipment, which was not something I’d planned for.

“We can absorb the loss, but it’s not what I was hoping for."

Police investigating the burglary have confirmed they’re looking for three suspects.

Detective Sergeant John Lyons, of CID Proactive West, said: "Enquiries in relation to this incident are currently ongoing and we are doing all we can to identify those responsible.

“As part of our investigation, I’m keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and believes they may have seen anything suspicious.

“I’d also ask residents who live on or around in the Northwich Road area of Weaverham to review any CCTV or video doorbell footage to see if they have anything which may aid our investigation.

“The same goes for any motorists with any dashcam footage.”
