MIDDLEWICH beer festival organisers are already looking ahead to 2024 following the success of this year’s event.
Around 400 patrons flocked to the town’s Royal British Legion Club to sample some of the 290 gallons of beer on offer.
A 'Beer Of The Festival' vote was held and it can now be revealed that taking home the prize is Lakeland Nightfall Coffee Stout by Beartown Brewery.
A spokesperson for Middlewich Round Table, who organised the festival, said: “Feedback about this year's beer selection was fantastic, so a massive thank you to all the hardworking breweries who supplied this year's event!
“Planning is already underway for next year's festival, with the hall booked, dates confirmed, and food vendors booked!”
Middlewich Beer Festival took place between Thursday (October 26) and Saturday (October 27).
It was a double success for Congleton’s Beartown Brewery, who also took home the Liam Bridle Award during Thursday’s trade and sponsor session.
The award was named after the late manager of the Beer Emporium in Sandbach, who passed away earlier this year aged just 37.
A beer was also created in his honour, 2 Metre Rat, and was the first to sell out.
The Saturday session proved to be extremely popular, with a large queue building outside the venue before it had even reached midday.
Within the first ten minutes of opening, 84 guests had already come through the doors.
Overall, the festival has raised £3,600 for the Poppy Appeal and local causes.
The Middlewich Round Table spokesperson added: “A massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event.
“We'd like to thank all the amazing artists who performed over the weekend keeping everyone entertained and also a massive thank you to our wonderful sponsors, who without the event just would not be possible!
“Last but not least, a huge shout out to all our volunteer bar staff who kept the beer flowing over the weekend!”
They continued: “It was great to see so many pub owners, brewers, CAMRA members and local business owners on Thursday Night.
“We hope to make the Thursday session a permanent session going forward.”
Tickets for Middlewich Beer Festival 2024 (October 26 and 27) are already on sale via the Middlewich Round Table website.
