POLICE have been flooded with offers to help them find a suspect.
Robert Rimmer, who has links to Cheshire, is wanted by police in connection with an ongoing investigation into drug related offences.
The 37-year-old’s mugshot was first shared last December, with his muscular frame garnering a lot of attention.
Humberside Police have now renewed their appeal and have once again been bombarded with messages from admirers.
“I’ll help you look,” commented one woman on the police’s Facebook appeal.
Another fan wrote: “I thought Channing Tatum was wanted for a second.”
“Liked, shared & commented… hope I win,” added a third.
Rimmer is originally from Ashton-under-Lyne area of Manchester but is known to have links to Cheshire, as well as Hull, Liverpool, Blackpool and the Middle East.
Police in East Yorkshire are looking to speak with him in connection with an ongoing investigation into drug related offences in the area.
Despite the police force’s original Facebook appeal, posted in December 2022, receiving hundreds of responses, Rimmer is still wanted nearly 11 months on.
One of the many comments on the initial appeal read: "If I find him can I keep him? Finders keepers and all."
"If I see him…. I won’t let you know," joked another.
One woman tagged her friend in the post and told her: "If you come across him, please contact me before you call the police. Thanks."
Amid all the jokes, police have urged anyone who knows of his whereabouts to get in touch “immediately”.
“If you see him, or know where he is, please do not approach him but instead call us immediately on our non-emergency 101 line quoting investigation reference 20900368291,” said a Humberside Police spokesperson.
“If you would prefer to report information anonymously you can do so via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
