ASDA has shone a light on one of its employees who went above and beyond for a customer in need.
Jonathan Edwards, store manager of the Barons Quay Asda, has nominated one of his staff for a ‘service superstar’ award.
Marilyn Sproston, who works on the checkouts, has been put up for the prize after hand-delivering a microwave to the home of an elderly customer who was unable to carry it.
Jonathan said: "The customer, who's a regular here, had bought a microwave but would have struggled to get it home on foot, which is about a mile from the store, so Marilyn came to see me and asked if she could take the lady home in her car which I said she could.
“The lady was blown over by Marilyn's service. Marilyn has been here since the store opened seven years ago and she is very well known.
“She's a lovely lady who's very caring and everyone likes her.”
