PROBLEM parking is set to become a thing of the past at a Northwich school.

Davenham and Moulton Police have teamed up with staff at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College to tackle parking issues during pick up times.

While carrying out a speed camera session on Monday afternoon (October 16), PCSO Lee Robertson witnessed three offences.

This include people parking and stopping in front of residents’ driveways, causing an unnecessary obstruction, parking in between ‘no stopping’ cones, and stopping and picking students up on ‘keep clear’ sections marked with zig zag lines.

Police have warned that all of these issues could result in fixed penalty notices.

However, on this occasion PCSO Robertson let drivers off with a verbal advisory.

A spokesperson for the force added: “Davenham and Moulton Police working with Sir John Deane’s to solve this problem of parking.

“Residents are reporting issues of unnecessary obstructions to their driveways, junctions are being blocked and there is verbal abuse from drivers when residents are asking if they could move their vehicles - which is totally unacceptable.

“The cones are being placed out by Sir John Deane’s to help with the issue - so therefore there should be no parking between them.

“There is an onsite car park that can be used by everyone, but if people are choosing to cause an unnecessary obstruction, this will be addressed.

“PCSO Lee will continue to conduct parking patrols and speed camera sessions in the area for the rest of the school year.”
