A CASTLE in Cheshire has been named as one of the country's “most Instagrammed” wedding venues.

Searches for wedding venues have risen by over 110 per cent in recent months, prompting Aura Print to conduct a study into the most popular locations to get hitched this autumn and winter.

By tallying the number of hashtags on Instagram, the print specialists were able to put together a top 40.

Peckforton Castle came in fifth place, with 31,6000 Instagram hashtags.

The Grade I listed 19th century estate has even played host to a celebrity wedding as American singer Ciara and NFL star Russell Wilson tied the knot there in 2016.

The likes of Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Rowland are understood to have attended.

Also making the list in Cheshire was Heaton House Farm in Rushton Spencer and Dorfold Hall in Nantwich at 24 and 25 respectively. 

Top of the list with 196,000 Instagram hashtags was Blenheim Palace in the Cotswolds.

Completing the top five was Hampton Court Palace, Leeds Castle and the Barbican Centre.
