A FOOTPATH will close for over a year as work continues on a town’s regeneration.
The centre of Winsford is currently undergoing a multi-million-pound transformation.
As part of the works, the Dene Drive footpath will be closed to pedestrians for 14 months.
This closure comes into place on Sunday (October 1).
Work began on the Winsford regeneration earlier this year.
In total the project will cost £22.5 million, funded by the Cheshire West and Chester Council and the Government’s Future High Street Fund.
So far, Queens Parade has been demolished with work to demolish Fountains Court now underway.
Construction has also begun, with work starting on Costa Coffee.
This unit will be handed over to the coffee chain next spring, ahead of an anticipated summer opening.
The council will then hand over a new retail unit to B&M next autumn, with the discount store expected to open in the winter.
The open spaces and public square will also open in winter 2024, bringing an end to phase one of the project.
