ALMOST 3,000 individual firework bursts will be seen in the skies above Northwich this autumn as one of Cheshire's 'biggest and best' displays returns in 2023.

The ever popular Northwich FireFest will take place on Saturday, November 4, at Verdin Park.

The event, jointly organised by Northwich Rotary and Northwich Round Table in collaboration with the town council, will see a huge supervised bonfire lit at 6.30pm.

This will be followed by a 'lengthy and spectacular' pyrotechnics display, put on by Fantasia Fireworks.

So big is the display, there will be 2,854 individual bursts, of which almost all will be aerial and some with a spread of more than 75 metres.

A Northwich Rotary spokeswoman said: "It is a great way to enjoy a bonfire and fireworks in a safe environment.

"A team of local volunteers help this event to take place, and all profits raised are paid to local charities.

"Alongside all this we have Northwich Radio providing music and compere for the evening.

"A funfair includes a wide variety of hot and cold food and drinks for you to purchase."

Vendors confirmed to be at the event include: In The Dog Haus; Spoon Desserts; Halloumination; Apricot Blue Catering; Little Espresso Company; Carousel Creations Cheshire; Layers Treats; Fredrick's Ice Cream; Let's Eat; Glitter Stall; and Hush/NTC Bar.

The Gates open at 5.30pm with the bonfire lighting taking place an hour later. The firework display begins at 7.15pm.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults (ages 16 and over), £5 for children (aged four to 15) and free for infants (under three) and are available online at firefest.org.uk.

The spokeswoman added: "This is a very popular event so online ticket purchasing is recommended to speed up entry into the park."

Visitors can also pay on the gate via cash/card.
