FILMING of a children’s movie is taking place near Northwich.

Residents of Cuddington may be mistaken for thinking they have been transported to Hollywood.

That is because film crews are currently in the village working on a new flick for Sky Movies titled ‘Robin and the Hood’.

A letter sent out to residents from RATH Productions read: “We intend to film scenes for our children’s fantasy adventure feature film “Robin And The Hood” in the cul de sac section of Cartledge Close.”

The first week of filming took place at the end of August with scenes taking place in homes and on drives along Cartledge Close.

Vehicles carrying all the tech could be seen along Moss Lane and Valley Lane.

Now the second week of filming is underway.

Crews arrived on Monday (September 18) to begin work on “exterior street scene preparation” with filming getting underway on Wednesday.

It is due to continue until Tuesday (September 26), with work taking place between 8am and 8pm each day.

Filming is taking place primarily on the green in front of the woodland area.

Lorraine McDonald caught a glimpse of the action.

“There’s a production company in the village filming for sky movies, so I hear.

“The construction vehicles were stored on the village car park and today they were clad in metal armour so at least one looked like a dinosaur.

“This scene seemed to be about saving the woodland, hence the police and some characters holding protest signs about saving the trees.”

Not much is known about Robin and the Hood yet.

According to IMDB it is being directed by Phil Hawkins who has previously worked on "high profile" televsions adverts and indie fetaure films released by the likes of Sony, Netflix and Lionsgate.

His most notable work is Prance: A Christmas Tale which starred Oscar-nominated James Cromwell.

IMDB says he also created "probably the most expensive fan film ever made" in Star Wars Origins, which received praise from Mark Hamill himself.
