POLICE are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting a child.

Cheshire Police has shared an appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of Tadiwanashe Dzikiti.

The 21-year-old failed to appear at West Cheshire Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (September 5) in relation to drug offences.

This comes a day after he was released on conditional bail by Leicester Magistrates’ Court having been charged with one count of sexual assault of a child and three counts of sexual communication with a child following an incident that occurred in Cort Crescent, Leicester, on the Saturday (September 2).

Leicestershire Police say he has breached these bail conditions and an appeal for information has now been launched.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hames said: “Dzikiti has failed to obey to the strict conditions imposed on him when he was released by the courts last week and is now wanted for this offence.

“We will continue to carry out enquiries to locate him but we are also asking for the public to help and come forward with information if you think you may have seen Dzikiti or know of his whereabouts.

“I understand people may have concerns but I can assure the public that police are doing everything possible to try and find him. Our advice for anyone who sees the man pictured is to not approach him but to call police on 999.

“For anyone who has information or thinks they may have seen Dzikiti during the last week, please do come forward. Your information could assist with helping us to piece together his movements.”

It is believed Dzikiti has connections to many areas in Birmingham, including the Ward End, Handsworth, Lozells and East Handsforth areas.

It is understood that prior to his arrest, Dzikiti travelled frequently by train, most recently from Birmingham to London last month.

Cheshire Police shared Leicestershire Police’s appeal on Tuesday afternoon (September 12).

A spokesperson for the force said: “Can you help our colleagues at Leicestershire Police to find Tadiwanashe Dzikiti?

“He is also wanted after failing to appear at West Cheshire Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday September 5 in relation to drug offences.”
