POLICE have been given additional powers to tackle anti-social behaviour.
A dispersal order has been imposed by Northwich Police covering Pickmere Lake and the surrounding area.
This comes as temperatures are set to continue soaring into the mid and upper 20s.
The order came into force at 5pm today (September 8) and will remain in place until 5pm on Sunday (September 10).
Implemented under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003, the order gives Northwich Police extra powers to remove people whose behaviour they believe to be causing a nuisance, harassment or distress.
Officers will be able to move individuals out of the specified area and stop them from returning for up to 24 hours.
Anyone who breaches the order can be arrested.
This order also allows police to take anyone aged under 16 and in the dispersal area without the supervision of an adult home, if appropriate to do so.

In addition to the dispersal order, Northwich Police are also urging motorists visiting the area to be courteous following reports of parking issues near to lake.
This includes cars parked on yellow lines, vehicles parked on junctions and cars blocking driveways.
