THE King and Queen penned a letter to Northwich schoolchildren.
Pupils at Barnton Community Primary School are over the moon after receiving a letter from Their Royal Highnesses.
The school’s year three class sent King Charles and Queen Camilla letters and cards to congratulate them on their coronation back in May.
On their first day back after the summer break, pupils were delighted to discover the Royals had got back to them.
Assistant head teacher Becky Coates said: "Here at Barnton Community Nursery and Primary School, we believe in inspiring the children in all areas of the curriculum, linking learning to current events and issues of our time.
“Our year three children were excited to write to our new King and Queen to offer our congratulations.
“We are delighted that they took the time to respond, bringing the children's learning to life."
The card signed by Charles and Camilla read: “We were deeply touched by your most kind and thoughtful message following our Coronation.
“We are enormously grateful to everyone who took part in the celebrations, and particularly appreciate that you took the time to write to us on this very special occasion.”
