AN electrical shop has enjoyed a successful start to life.
Northwich Electrical Supplies has been open in Winnington Avenue for just shy of a month and has gone from strength to strength in that time.
Steve Walker, 50, has more than two decades of experience in the industry and owns the business alongside his wife, Andrea.
They say it is the 'continued growth and development' of the town that made them to decide to open the store.
Andrea added: “We both know the potential in this area, and with the addition of Winnington Business Park, Steve decided it was the perfect time to start his next venture back here.
“He's enjoyed getting back in touch with familiar faces from when he last worked in our town, plus many new ones too.
“The great thing about Northwich is the amazing sense of community, and the way the local businesses support one another.
“We're already seeing the benefits of this community feel with every new business that opens on the business park, there is a real buzz building here and it's such a fantastic location.”
Mr Walker, originally from Sale, moved to Northwich 20 years ago when he took a job at an electrical wholesaler.
He has spent his entire career in the electrical wholesale industry, starting out as a part-time van driver, working his way up to a branch manager before launching his first business over in Macclesfield.
Now living in Winnington Village, the Walkers opened the doors to Northwich Electrical Supplies at the start of August.
Andrea added: “When people arrive they can firstly expect free parking right outside and a warm welcome from Steve!
“As he has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry he’s extremely knowledgeable and he really enjoys helping people find exactly what they're after.
“The store itself is well stocked with a wide variety of products from sockets and switches to heating and lighting.
“We have some lovely light fittings on display and we also have catalogues for customers to browse through if they're after something specific, we can then order it in for them ASAP.
“The response from the community has been amazing so far, especially now the word is getting out that the business park is open.
“Once people know that a fantastic independent electrical wholesale business is on their doorstep that welcomes both trade and retail customers we believe it will go from strength to strength.”
