A COUNCILLOR has resigned just weeks after they were elected
Christina Duffyhas resigned from Winsford Town Council.
Mrs Duffy, representing the Dene ward, was one of 14 Salt of the Earth members to win a seat at May’s election.
The success meant the independent group, which only formed earlier this year, claimed all but one seat on the council, with Labour’s Nathan Pardoe holding on to his seat representing the Wharton ward.
It has now been revealed that Mrs Duffy resigned from her position a few weeks ago, around three months after being elected on May 4.
Fellow councillor, Simon Boone, shared this news on Facebook.
He wrote: “A local election is looming for the Dene Ward in Winsford.
“October is likely to see a local by-election for the position of parish councillor for the Dene Ward here in Winsford.
“This is because the Winsford Salt of the Earth Parish councillor, Chrissy Duffy, resigned a few weeks ago.
“Official candidates still to be announced.”
