AN E-BIKER was attacked and robbed of his £2,000 cycle by teenagers while travelling through Delamere Forest.
Police say the 54-year-old victim was riding on an ‘unofficial’ cycle route around the popular beauty spot at 1.15pm on Wednesday, August 16.
He was confronted by a teenager wearing bike kit, including a full-face helmet and goggles, who was standing next to the path.
As the victim approached, the teen shoved him so hard he was forced to dismount.
A second teen then appeared and the pair threatened the victim, forcing him to hand over the e-bike, which they then made off with.
Police say the stolen e-bike is a dark green Whyte E180 electric bike with black upgraded Rockshock Ultimate forks, and Hope pedal upgrades.
They have issued a picture of a similar bike, which is believed to be worth around £2,000.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "The man was traveling on an unofficial cycle route when a teenager stood on the side of the path pushed him, forcing him to dismount.
"The suspect, along with another teenage boy, approached the victim, threatening him to hand over the bike.
"He complied, and the teenagers proceeded to make off with the bike in an unknown direction.
“The first suspect is described as a teenage boy, aged 15 and 16, wearing a full-face helmet and googles, bike kit and gloves.
“The second suspect is also described as a teenage boy aged between 15 and 16 of large build and with blonde hair.
“At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark tracksuit bottoms and jacket with a baseball hat.”
Detective Constable Ebbie Pharo, who's leading the investigation, said: "We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the Delamere Forest area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed anything suspicious to come forward.
"Anyone with information that may help the ongoing investigation should contact Cheshire Police on 101, or at https://www.cheshire.police.uk/tua, quoting IML-1622205."
