PLANS for a care village including a bowling green, affordable housing, children's creche and public open space have been revealed.
The 14-acre development is only in its early stage of planning and would be sited at Golden Nook Farm in Chester Road, Sandiway.
The retirement village would provide village apartments, serviced apartments and care bedrooms with a range of services provided including domiciliary and convalescent care, restaurant and bar, bowling green, lounge, library, hairdresser, shop, social events, minibus transport and leisure facilities.
There would also be 50 affordable dwellings comprising of 30 flats and 20 family houses, which could mean the need for a creche.
A consortium proposing the plan is from the Ratcliff Partnership in Manchester, Osbourne House in Gadbrook Park and Johnstone Godfrey the landowner.
Representatives spoke to members of Cuddington and Sandiway Parish Council to outline their ideas.
They said: "We believe that Golden Nook is ideally located on the edge of a substantial settlement as it will allow residents the opportunity to link into a wider community.
"Our research shows there are quite a significant number of retired people in the Cuddington and Sandiway area, who we believe would be attracted to down-sizing if smaller good quality bungalows or apartments were available in the vicinity.
"This being so, it would release family housing for younger couples with children in an area where there is an undoubted shortage.
