A FOUNDER member of a Moulton group is launching his latest book about its history.
Geoff Crompton's lighthearted book, Thirty Years of Camping with The Moulton Adventure Group, contains information on camping trips between the years of 1970 and 1999.
It holds details on the locations, dates, songs, photographs, ghost stories and anecdotes along with much more.
In October 1969, after moving to Moulton from Widnes, he noticed that there was little to do for young lads in the village.
He approached the elders of the Methodist Church and asked if they would be interested in the idea of him forming a new youth organisation in the chapel hall, one evening a week.
The elders of the Chapel were delighted and gave the scheme their blessing.
Now, the group have an impressive extensively equipped, two-storey headquarters in School Lane.
Geoff, 75, now lives on Lambert Way, in Hartford, and is urging people to buy a copy of his book to reminisce about the years gone by.
All profits from the book, priced £6, will be divided equally between the NSPCC and The Moulton Adventure Group.
