AN air ambulance has been called to the scene of crash on the M6 in Cheshire.
Traffic was temporarily stopped on both the north and southbound carriages at around 1.30pm following the collision near junction 17 for Sandbach.
Southbound traffic has since been released but as of 2pm, northbound traffic is still being held.
Traffic headed northbound is being diverted via an exit and entry slip roads at the junction.

National Highways has confirmed there are at least four miles of congestion in both directions.
Traffic England estimate there will be about 50 minutes of delays against expected conditions, while the incident is dealt with.
