TAKEAWAY delivery drivers who've been parking dangerously outside McDonald's in Winsford will soon have to think again.
Concerns were raised by residents who made regular reports of third-party delivery drivers parking dangerously outside the restaurant chain's outlet in Nat Lane Retail Park.
Managers at the restaurant raised the issue with the drivers, but this didn't fix the problem.
Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) recently completed a consultation to assess the need for parking restrictions, which decided double yellow lines were necessary on both sides of Nat Lane around the restaurant.
Weather permitting, a team from CWAC's highways department will make a start on these today, Friday, with parking restrictions coming into force soon after.
CWAC councillor for Wharton ward, Nathan Pardoe, said: "The parking restrictions I promised earlier in the year are being added to Nat Lane to remove any excuse for dangerous parking by delivery drivers near McDonald's.
"McDonald's asked third-party delivery drivers to park in safe locations but the behaviour didn't change, meaning restrictions were the only option.
"Anybody continuing to park in this area will be at risk of enforcement activity.
“Thanks to residents for their patience whilst this scheme was implemented, and to those who responded to the consultation."
