A NEW nightclub is set to open in Northwich town centre on the site of the former Reds Bar.
The Exchange Bar and Clubs has taken over the 33 High Street venue, which was previously home to Madisons.
A premises licence application has been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council, with a consultation running until June 27.
Posting on their Facebook page, The Exchange had been working towards a May opening before delays with the refurbishment an licensing.
The business has applied to open between 10am and 2am Monday to Wednesday and 10am to 3.30am on Thursdays to Sundays.
It also proposes to be open on holidays such as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Eve from 10am until 5.30am. The same hours are proposed for Sundays preceding Bank Holiday Mondays.
Licences for live and recorded music, dance performances and the supply of alcohol on and off the premises have also been applied for.
Reds Bar closed in around 2016 and had previously been Madisons, which closed in 2009 when the owner voluntarily surrendered the licence.
