A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after reports of a scrambler being ridden through a children’s play area in Northwich.
Officers from Cheshire Police Operation Scrambler squad were called to fields off Saxons Lane, Greenbank, at 2.25pm yesterday, Monday.
Concerned members of the public had alerted them to men riding off-road motorbikes illegally, including reports of a man riding through the children’s playground.
When officer arrived at the scene, they stopped a 26-year-old man, who they arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 2.25pm on Monday, May 15, police were called to reports of men riding scrambler bikes on a field off Saxons Lane, Northwich.
"Officers from the force Operation Scrambler team were deployed to the scene and following a search of the area, they stopped a man who was riding an off-road bike.
“The 26-year-old was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving."
