A MOULTON couple will be saying I do this afternoon at the same time as Charles is crowned king.
Emily Rogerson and Simon Gerrard booked their wedding long before it was announced that the coronation of King Charles III would be happening today, Saturday.
While people across the country will be watching the once-in-a-lifetime event unfold at Westminster Abbey in London and from their living rooms, Emily and Simon will be walking down the aisle for their own special day.
The couple, who met online on Match six years ago, will be tying the knot at Wyvern House registry office in Winsford with 22 guests before heading off to Cheshire Polo Club on the A49 near Tarporley for the reception.
Around a hundred friends and family will be joining them for the daytime celebrations, which include a singer in the afternoon, before a further 50 guests will be arriving in time for a DJ at 7pm followed by a saxophonist to round off the evening.
So, how do Emily and Simon feel about their wedding day clashing with the King’s coronation?
Emily said: “We love to dance and can’t wait to have a big party with all our friends and family.
“We won’t be having a television screen with footage of the coronation – we’ll be too busy celebrating getting married!”
Emily added: “Moulton has a few coronation-themed events happening on Sunday, so we might venture out and see what’s going on as a married couple!”
