LABOUR has retained its majority on Northwich Town Council after a successful day at the polls.

Sixteen seats, across four wards, were up for grabs with the five Labour candidates in the town’s uncontested fifth ward – Witton – having been duly elected.

With 17 successful candidates, Labour still holds a majority of 21 council seats.

The remaining three seats were won by two Conservative candidates, one Liberal Democrat, and one Independent.
