A SERIOUS multi-vehicle collision on the M62 has closed the motorway for several hours with police investigations underway.
National Highways have announced that the motorway is closed eastbound between Croft Interchange (Junction 10) and Birchwood Interchange (Junction 11).
The link roads from the M6 Junction 21A northbound and southbound onto the M62 eastbound are both closed as well.
This is due to what has been described as a “very serious multi-vehicle collision.”
Emergency services remain in attendance, including Cheshire Police.
A “Police Collision investigation” will be taking place, with the road expected to remain closed for hours.
National Highways have provided a diversion route headed eastbound due to expectations the road will remain closed for a long period.
