AN art shop is opening its doors to its first Open Exhibition in the heart of Northwich for the next month.
Northwich Art Shop, working in partnership with Visual Arts Cheshire CIC, is running the exhibition at Barons Quay until May 13.
There was an ‘amazing’ response to its call for submissions, from across Cheshire and beyond.
There were more than 130 entries, representing a body of more than 450 pieces of art.
The selection team worked hard to filter this down into what is hoped will be ‘an interesting exhibition showcasing some of the incredible artists and creators from our area’.
Phil Bower from Northwich Art Shop said: “The Open Exhibition was born out of desire to continue Northwich Art Shop’s outreach into our artistic community, and give people an opportunity to professionally display their work in a gallery setting.”
Phil Carswell of Visual Arts Cheshire added: “The support from Cheshire West and Chester Council, Barons Quay and Northwich BID has allowed them to provide an ongoing programme of works in the Barons Quay unit, ensuring that art is at the very heart of the community in Northwich.”
The teams look forward to welcoming visitors to the gallery, which will be open from today, April 13, through to May 13.
The gallery will be open Thursday to Saturday from 10.30am to 4pm.
