A NEW retirement living complex in Middlewich is set to officially open.

Following completion in September last year, the ribbon will be cut on Roman Court - the McCarthy Stone retirement development in Wheelock Street.

Doing the honours will be BBC TV antiques expert David Harper, who will be in town on March 23 for a special opening ceremony.

After kick-starting the open celebration, David will also give a talk on his life as antiques expert and regale the guests with anecdotes from his career, before giving more detail on objects of interest brought in by visitors.

Guests will be also able to take a tour of the show apartments and speak to the McCarthy Stone team about the unique lifestyle on offer, before enjoying light refreshments.

Louise Flynn, divisional marketing manager at McCarthy Stone, said: "Everyone is really looking forward to having David Harper come and officially open Roman Court, where a lively and welcoming community of like-minded people is taking shape.

"He’s a great speaker and it promises to be a fascinating day, and we are excited to hear about his life as an antiques expert.

"Events such as this are part of the fabric at Roman Court, where homeowners can enjoy an enviable set of on-site facilities alongside top-quality homes, with the option to join in when they want, and enjoy peace and quiet at other times."

Half of the 50 one and two-bedroom luxury apartments have already been snapped up by local retirees.

The on-site facilities include a communal lounge, landscaped gardens, and a guest suite where friends and family are able to enjoy an overnight stay.

The latest security features have also been installed, while homeowners will also have access to a dedicated house manager during office hours.

Prices at Roman Court currently start from £183,499 for a one-bedroom apartment and £249,899 for a two-bedroom apartment.

David Harper will be in town between 2pm and 4pm. All are welcome to join the event, including prospective buyers and their families. Places are free but should be booked in advance by calling 0800 8821 829.
