A 33-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court after stealing steak and sweets from shops in Northwich.

Craig Rodham, of Church Road, Northwich, was charged with two counts of theft and appeared in Chester Magistrates’ Court on March 9 to be sentenced.

The court heard on February 20 Rodham stole £50 worth of steaks from Waitrose.

On March 7, he then stole £21.04 worth of sweets from Quality Save.

Taking his guilty plea into account, magistrates ordered the defendant to pay £50 in compensation, on top of a £40 fine.

He is also subject to a community order involving up to 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 22 days of a ‘Thinking Skills’ programme.
