A DRIVER clocked speeding at 103mph on a motorway has avoided a ban.
Katie Fox, of Frog Lane, Pickmere, pleaded guilty at Manchester Magistrates Court on February 22 to exceeding the 70mph speed limit.
The 22-year-old was caught on camera driving a Ford car on the M62 eastbound in Salford at 103mph on May 28, last year.
Fox was fined £120 and ordered to pay £90 costs and £34 victim surcharge.
Her driving licence was also endorsed with six penalty points.
Magistrates took the defendant’s guilty plea into consideration when imposing the sentence.
Driving at 100mph on public roads in the UK is classified as a band C speeding offence, the highest category.
Drivers can face an instant ban for excessive speed.
Fox was given until March 22 to pay the £244 court bill.
