DESPITE fierce competition, a salon in Barnton has shown it is a cut above the rest as it is named Hair Extensions Salon of the Year.
Oliver Gibney Hairdressing and Hair Extensions in Runcorn Road won the category at prestigious English Hair and Beauty Awards.
The awards celebrate ‘industry excellence’ and the ‘best hair and beauty professionals across the country’ at a glittering awards night in Manchester, complete with entertainment and celebration.
Ollie said: “There were so many finalists for that category, it was unbelievable that we won, especially since we were runners up from last year, so the standards were really high.
“I have done hair extensions since 2005 so the recognition of this award is fantastic.”
After starting an apprenticeship at the age of 16, Ollie has gone from strength to strength.
His five-star rated salon specialises in colour and hair extensions and has won numerous awards since it was set up almost 20 years ago.
Ollie previously told the Guardian: “Hair extensions are the main focus, and the transformations are unreal.
“We pride ourselves on safe, no glue methods.
“Our colour transformations also attract clients from as far as Anglesey, London, Sheffield and Leeds.”
A spokesperson for The English Hair and Beauty Awards 2023 added: “It has been an unforgettable night, filled with incredible food, entertainment, vibrant energy, and passionate conversations.
“Winning an award in this prestigious competition is a significant achievement, as it acknowledges the talent and hard work of hair and beauty professionals and sets a benchmark for others to follow.
“The winners of these awards represent the highest standards of quality and service in the English hair and beauty industry.
“We have celebrated the finest professionals and businesses in England, recognising the creativity, innovation, and exceptional service that have become synonymous with this beloved industry.”
