AN inquest has been opened into the death of a woman on a railway line in Northwich.
Emergency services were called to the scene between Greenbank and Northwich stations on February 19 after reports of a casualty on the tracks.
The 33-year-old, named during an inquest opening as Ashleigh Marie Cafferata, of Chester Way, Northwich, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The hearing heard: "Paramedics attended just past Northwich Railway Station and confirmed she had passed away."
She was identified through fingerprints on February 20.
A full inquest into her death will take place on September 4, 2023.
The incident caused major disruption to services and at the time, a spokesman for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line in Northwich at 4.30pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
