CHESHIRE West and Chester residents can make use of a range of free money management courses in light of the cost-of-living crisis.
Weaver Vale Housing Trust, a housing association which owns and manages more than 6,200 homes in the Cheshire and Warrington area, is offering a range of courses for anyone aged 19 and over.
The Multiply courses, which the landlord has secured funding to run from the Government’s ‘UK Shared Prosperity Fund’, are designed for anyone who wants to build confidence with numbers and understanding bills and will share top tips to save money.
There will be a range of practical sessions covering understanding household bills and bank statements, borrowing safely, how to cook and shop on a budget, managing energy use, and creating a household budget that works.
The courses will provide people with individual learning plans so they can make numbers work for them by gaining confidence in how to use numbers in a variety of everyday settings, such as using bus timetables, getting the best deal in the supermarket and other practical tips.
Lyn Hamlet, work team leader at Weaver Vale Housing Trust, said: “We understand the financial pressures many residents are facing at the moment in the wake of the cost-of-living crisis, and we want to do all we can to help.
“These courses are free to attend and perfect for anyone who needs help understanding money more.
“The courses will have no more than 12 people on each one, so everyone will get some one-on-one support.
“Our goal is to help empower people to manage their budgets with confidence.”
