A VIGIL will be held in Rudheath after the tragic death of a woman at local park.
The woman was found dead at Griffiths Park at 9am yesterday (February 11) after police were called to cornerns for a person's welfare.
Paramedics attended, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now a local councillor, Olwyn Dean, has asked members of the Rudheath community wanting to pay tribute to the woman to gather near the spot where she was found, in Griffiths Park, for a torchlight vigil today, Sunday 12, at 5pm.
Cllr Dean posted on Facebook: “In response to the tragic event which occurred on St John's Field today I propose a torchlight vigil at 5pm, Sunday, so people can pay their respects.
She added: “It was such a shock to the system. People are obviously very saddened.
“I just feel the community wants to come together to pay their respects, and I thought it better that we all do it together, rather than people doing it one at a time.”
