WITH only eight weeks left until the clocks go forward, it’s safe to say that spring is just around the corner.
This is great news for those who cherish outdoor life, and it's time to start thinking about swapping those drawn-out evenings in front of the TV for more active evenings out and about in our beloved Cheshire countryside.
To get the ball rolling, St Luke’s Hospice has added a new event to its calendar especially for Delamere Forest devotees which is sure to bring on those long-awaited spring feelings.
Hundreds are expected at the charity’s first Twilight Walk event, set for the last evening before the clocks change, when we can all put the long winter behind us.
Jane Thompson, head of events at St Luke’s, said: “We are so excited about our new Twilight Walk event for 2023, it is set to be a delightful evening of celebration and fun.
“We are so lucky to be able to host the event at the wonderful Delamere Forest and create an event that is fun and memorable for all the family."

The six-mile route will take walkers up Old Pale, then around the forest mere, finishing back at the visitors centre just as the light disappears when adults can enjoy a well-earned a glass of fizz to celebrate the start of spring in style.
There will be something for everyone, starting with a ‘silent disco’ warm-up, then all will be issued with their own head torch, which can be kept, and there will be fire pits on the route where walkers can toast a s’more or two.
Jane added: “This year our fundraising target is £40,000 which would fund an incredible 268 nurses’ shifts on our inpatient unit.
“Each shift costs £149 and each hour of nursing care £31, so when you take part and raise money for St Luke’s you are helping us to move one step closer to this target.”
