A MAN jailed for more than two years after stabbing his then partner in the leg went to her home following his release and threatened to 'smash her face in'.
Kenneth Haskell, of Inglewood Avenue, Middlewich, had previously been sentenced to 27 months in prison in April 2019, for the attack.
But on November 19 last year, the 47-year-old visited his ex's home while drunk and made several threats towards her.
Haskell also threatened police officers who came to her aid, telling them he would 'smash the f*** out of them', called them 'paedos', and told them to 'go f*** themselves'.
He appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court on Monday, January 16, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of using threatening words – one against his former partner, in breach of a restraining order, and one against two police officers who were called to the incident.
Prosecuting, Michael O’Kane told the court Haskell called at the victim’s home while drunk and threatened to 'smash her car' and to 'smash her face in'.
Mr O’Kane described how police officers attended the scene and were threatened and verbally abused, and how Haskell 'made is hard for the officers to arrest him, by going rigid, so the officers were forced to floor him'.
He also said the victim had chosen not to give a statement about this incident to the police.
Defending, Mr Macdonald said Haskell acknowledges he has a drink and drug problem, that he did stupid things when he is drunk, and 'that alcohol was a catalyst to the situation in question'.
Haskell will be sentenced on Monday, February 13, pending a pre-sentence report from the probation service.
District Judge James Clarke granted him bail until that date, on condition he does not contact the victim by any means, and does not enter her road.
