AN award-winning musician hailed ‘Female Artist of the Year’ is performing at an intimate venue in Cheshire.

Singer-songwriter Jenny Colquitt plays the Lion Salt Works Museum in Northwich on Saturday, January 28.

Winner of last year’s FATEA ‘Female artist of the Year’, Jenny also won the SMC’s award for best female solo singer-songwriter in the 2021 and was named ‘One to watch’ in 2021 by RnR Magazine.

This gifted singer has a voice that combines the melodic undertones of artists such as Eva Cassidy and the rawness of Alanis Morisette.

Using piano and guitar, she weaves storytelling at its finest with soul, lyrical vulnerability and style.

Her music encompasses Americana, indie and folk rock and pop.

Jenny's debut album 'Something Beautiful' was released in November 2021.

Cllr Louise Gittins, leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “Jenny Colquitt’s gig at the Lion Salt Works underlines the quality of singers that are being attracted to our atmospheric venue and which often play at its Salt Works sessions.

“Multi award-winning Jenny is known for the yearning beauty of her voice and the passion and heart in which she captures every line of her powerful lyrics.

“This promises to be a magical night of live music, not to be missed.”

This gig has been organised by Northwich local Iain Stead of Mack’s Music.

Doors and the bar open at 7.30pm with music starting at 8pm.
