TWO bikers are riding to Big Ben and back on New Year’s Day to support a charity close to their hearts.
Winsford dads Simon Boone and Dan Ford want to thank staff at St Luke’s for their ‘amazing work’.
The two businessmen raised £2,600 for the hospice on a 500-mile ride to Portsmouth and back on January 1 this year.

Simon said: “We’ve both got personal links to the hospice with family and friends.
“We wanted to kick off their New Year with a decent amount of money.”
Simon, who runs a planning consultancy, and Dan, who has a delivery company, will be setting off from St Luke's Hospice in Winsford at 7am on Sunday.
The duo hope to be welcomed home by Ernie Welch at The Old Star pub 12 hours later.
“The biggest challenge will be the cold and not stiffening up,” said Simon.
“We’ll have a break half way there, something to eat in London and a break half way back.
“We’ve just got to keep warm and fed.
“We’ll be giving out cards to people we meet along the way to tell them what we are doing with links to our JustGiving page.”
The pair will be riding Royal Enfield Continental GT bikes.

The pair have also collected £15,000 this year for Ride to Raise, a project which provides care packages and support to the needy across Cheshire.
“We give out care packages to people on the street, in hostels and shelters.
“We also take people on adventure experiences on motorbikes.
“This year we also gave out 150 free tickets to Chester Zoo.”
The bikers are currently raising funds to buy a second hand van and trailer to support their charity work.

So far they have raised £6,475 towards their £10,000 target.
