A HOME care company is collecting gifts in Northwich to put a smile on an older person’s face this Christmas.
Home Instead Northwich has launched its annual gifting scheme, ‘Be a Santa’, supporting older people in the community who may feel lonely and isolated this Christmas time.
Throughout the festive period the company – which has participated in the ‘Be a Santa’ campaign since 2017 - will be collecting gifts at a collection point in Caffe Arabica on Gadbrook Park.
Working with The Northwich Salvation Army, Home Instead has created a list of people who would particularly appreciate a gift this Christmas, ensuring that their festive period doesn’t go without some sparkle.
Gifts can be donated between 8am and 2pm during the week, until Friday, December 16.
If you are unable to make it to the coffee shop, Home Instead can arrange a pick up.
Head of operations Nick Hodgson said: “We’re aware that there’s a loneliness epidemic amongst older people; for many of them Christmas isn’t filled with festivities and laughter.
“‘Be a Santa’ aims to tackle this, making a real difference within the community and putting a smile on older people’s faces.”
