A 62-YEAR-OLD man who assaulted a woman in Northwich has been handed a court bill of more than £350.

Christopher Whitehead, of The Crescent, Weaverham, appeared in Warrington Magistrates Court on December 5 after pleading guilty to one count of assault by beating.

The court heard the incident happened on October 4 of this year when he attacked a woman.

Taking Whitehead’s guilty plea into account, magistrates fined him £120 for the offence, on top of a court bill including £120 in court costs and a £114 surcharge.

He must also comply with a rehabilitation activity requirement entitled ‘Building Better Relationships’ of up to 30 days.
