TV stars helped kick off the festive period in Middlewich for the town’s Christmas Lights Switch On event.
Su Pollard, known for her role in Hi-de-Hi!, and Mark Labbett, otherwise known as ‘The Beast’ on The Chase, dropped by to say hello to residents.
The pair are performing down the road in Northwich as part of Jack and the Beanstalk at Memorial Court, running between December 10 and 31.
Su even shared a selfie from the event on Instagram with the caption, ‘Lighting up Christmas in Middlewich last night. Fabulous!’
Resident Anne Russell was at the event litter picking and managed to get a photograph with ‘The Beast’.
She said: “It was a great event and really brought the townspeople together.
“Well done to the town council and all the volunteers - a feel good factor in Middlewich town.
“The Beast was happy to have his photo taken with me and Dolly Trolley as we litter-picked.”
The town was glowing with festive cheer on Friday, December 2 for its Christmas lights event with festivities along Wheelock Street and the Bull Ring.
There was street food, fireworks, Silk FM in attendance, St Luke’s Santa’s Grotto, a walk-in snow globe, the Ted Holland funfair, the Lions Youth Brass Band, entertainment from Anton Benson ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ crew, St Michael’s carol service, Baxter duo, and ‘Play Your Christmas Cards Right’.
