A LORRY driver arrested over a fatal four-vehicle crash on the M6 which killed a young woman has been released on bail.
A 19-year-old passenger in a Volkswagen Polo died after being taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver and another passenger, two men in their 20s, remain in hospital where their injuries are described as ‘still serious’.
The crash happened at around 5.15pm on Friday, December 2, and involved a heavy goods vehicle, a Volkswagen Polo, a Peugeot 107 and a BMW.
The lorry driver, a 27-year-old man from Rossendale, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.”
The collision happened on the northbound carriageway between junction 16 and 17.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage from around the time of the crash to come forward.
