A TEENAGER has been arrested after a lit firework was posted through the letterbox of a Winsford home.
This morning, November 20, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of committing arson with intent to endanger life.
Two other males have previously been arrested and interviewed – aged 15 and 16.
A member of Winsford Police posted on social media: “On November 5, a report was made to Cheshire Police that a lit firework had been placed through the letterbox of a residential property in Winsford while the occupants, which included children, were present.
“Damage was caused to the front door, but thankfully the fire did not take hold.
“Winsford BEAT officers commenced an investigation.
“Enquiries are continuing. Once we have gathered additional evidence, the case will be presented to CPS for a charging decision to be made.
“The maximum sentence for this offence is life imprisonment.”
